Water

Water

I love water
The movement
The sound
Its hypnotizing
Comforting
I think it speaks to me
I’m drawn to it
In times of trouble
I go to it
I seek it out
I dont know why
My spirit leads me there
I call my momma, tell her I’m stressed
She says take a bath
Like she knows the answer is in the water
Maybe I’m looking for an encounter, like the woman at the well
Maybe it reminds me of a time when all my needs were met
In my mother’s womb, I was never too hot or too cold
I was never hungry
Surrounded by water
Then my mother’s water broke
And so it began
Pain, drama, fear, Lack, hunger, despair
When I was younger I forgot that it comforted me
I sought refuge in my head, but was never comforted
It wasn’t until I got older and my dreams no longer provided me a safe haven, did I return to the water
I find myself walking on river trails
I’m trying to heal
Waters cleanse
And washes wounds
Water symbolizes rebirth
Baptism
Take me to the water
To be made whole
